MY STORY

During my semester abroad in Granada, Spain I developed skills that aid me in my career and daily life from adaptability to Spanish language skills. I studied abroad with an affiliate study abroad provider (CEA), this was the best choice for me as they offered a wide range of course options and multiple scholarship opportunities. I received a $1000 flight voucher as well as a partial scholarship through CEA. I was also able to use my federal student loan funds toward my program cost. These factors all made my learning abroad program affordable.

After I returned from my semester abroad I was able to get involved on campus as a CEA alumni ambassador. I worked with fellow CEA alumni and the Learning Abroad Office to promote study abroad participation. My experiences influenced my desire to pursue an internationally focused career. I currently work with the Division of Public Health at the U where, among many duties, I assist with Global Public Health Learning Abroad Program administration. I am also pursuing an MS degree in the International Affairs and Global Enterprise (MIAGE) program at the U. After I complete my graduate degree, I plan to pursue more work within the field of international education or international development.
