Star Party: Every Wednesday 8-10pm, Physics Building (PHYS)                      

Come view the night sky through the Dept. Physics and Astronomy's Observatory. We'll show you the planets, stars, galaxies, clusters and nebulae from an on campus location. The South Physics Observatory is open to all ages. The opening times change throughout the year depending on sunset so check our webpage for current opening times. Star parties usually last for two hours or more and are outside, so dress appropriately.

Fabulous Friday: Every Friday 3-5pm, Union- A. Ray Olpin (UNION) rm. 409

End your school week with the LGBT Center! During the Spring and Fall semesters, the LGBT Center holds Fabulous Fridays from 3:00-5:00 PM. Come eat free food, play board games, meet new people, and celebrate another week past.

Campus Farmers Market:

The market takes place west of the Union building on Thursdays from 10am-2pm the first seven weeks of school. It will start on August 23rd, 2018.

Free Yoga at the Library:

Every Friday from September 7th- December 7th at 11am in Room 1140 of the Marriott Library.

Polynesian Days Festival

September 1st, 2nd, and 4th at Thanksgiving Point, a complex with shopping, dining, and a museum in Lehi. The free three-day outdoor event features ukulele workshops, whole-hog cookouts, hula classes, and handmade craft stations. Past concert headliners include Josh Tatofi, Dustin Park, and Tiva of Kapena.


Salt Lake Greek Festival

September 7th-9th enjoy Utah's largest and most popular ethnic festival. It features homemade Greek food and Greek music and dance. The annual Salt Lake Greek Festival evolved from a handicraft bazaar in the basement of a Greek church to one of the country's finest and largest celebrations. The Salt Lake Greek Festival, at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, is also a major Salt Lake City fundraiser, with a large percentage of the proceeds distributed every year to local charities and community outreach programs.

Park City Miners’ Day

Monday, September 3rd in Park City there will be a parade and many fun activities.

Utah State Fair

The fair will run from September 6 to 16, 2018. Includes livestock, arts, crafts and commercial exhibits, carnival rides, fair food (funnel cake, anyone?), concerts, a PRCA rodeo, a demolition derby, and freestyle motocross.

Salt Lake Comic Com

September 6 to 8, 2018 at the Salt Palace Convention Center. Salt Lake Comic Con is a pop culture convention event that brings comics, fan art, sci-fi, anime, fantasy, film, and TV and their associated comic creators, artists, actors, performers, authors, celebrities, and professionals to meet and interact with their fans. Ben Affleck (a.k.a. Batman), Chuck Norris, Tim Curry, Dick Van Dyke, and Evangeline Lilly are among the celebrities expected to put in an appearance in 2018.

Dinner: Hires Big H

Famous for their sensational Big H, fresh cut fries, homemade onion rings, special dipping sauce and root beer, Hires Big H is a great American Style restaurant. I definitely recommend having one of their shakes!
